Playing as a guest

No account is needed to play. As a guest, everything about your child (an optional nickname, age, language, stars and progress) is stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to us.

Accounts, for grown-ups

Behind the parent gate, a grown-up can create an account with an email address and password or with Sign in with Apple, so progress follows the child across devices. Sign-in and the database are provided by Google Firebase.

An account saves: the parent's email address, the child's nickname (optional), age, language choice, stars and progress. Progress that was played as a guest is merged into the account when you sign in.

Services the app uses

Google Firebase, only for parent sign-in, the database, and a check that requests come from the genuine app (App Check).

There is no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no push notifications. Play reminders are local notifications set on the device itself.

Where data is processed

Google and RevenueCat are companies based in the United States. Fonki's database is stored in Google's European multi-region (Belgium and the Netherlands). Sign-in and subscription data may be processed in the United States. These transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and, for Google, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep data

Account data is kept until you delete the account. Guest data never leaves the device and goes away when the app is removed. Feedback reports are kept for 24 months. Apple, Google and RevenueCat keep purchase records under their own policies.

Purchases

Fonki Plus is sold and billed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never see card details.

RevenueCat manages subscription status for us. It receives the account ID (or an anonymous app identifier for guests) and the purchase receipt, never card details.

Microphone

One listening game records up to four seconds of sound so the parrot can repeat it. The app asks for permission first. The recording stays on the device, is played straight back and is never uploaded.

Feedback reports

Grown-ups can send feedback from the parent area. The message itself travels by email from your own mail app. The app also saves a short report so we can match the email to the app: a reference number, the topic, the device model, OS version, app version, app language and, when signed in, the account ID. Reports do not contain the message, your email address or the child's profile.

Reports are kept for 24 months, also after an account is deleted, and then removed.

What we do not collect

No advertising identifier, no location, no contacts, no photos, and no tracking across other apps or websites.

Children

Fonki is made for children, so we keep what the app knows about them to a minimum: only what a grown-up enters when setting up a profile. The nickname is optional, and a grown-up can change or delete the profile at any time.

Deleting your account and your rights

You can delete the account in the app's parent settings. This deletes the login, the child's profile and all progress. You can also write to us to ask for a copy or a correction of your data. If you live in the European Union, you have the rights set out in the GDPR, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If the app starts doing something new with data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
